Central India is a region that is embedded in the Central Part of India. It comprises states of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. This Central region is in fact called the heart of the India. Its important cities are Bhopal, Khajurao, Orchha, and Gwalior. This part of India is most famous for its traditional culture, its temples and its historical heritage. Few of the famous places here in this region are Gwalior fort, Khajurao temple and Sanchi Stupa in Sanchi. Here if you want to explore the urban town then Indore is worth having a look. It is one of the fastest developing cities in India. The city has several alluring places that may add to your knowledge with lot of monuments and industrial establishments that denote city’s prosperity and are worth sightseeing. The region is also famous for its National Park as in Bandhavgarh National Park, Kanha National Park, Madhav National Park, Van Vihar National Park, Satpura National Park, Mandla Plant Fossils, Pench National Park and Panna National Park etc.

 

Gwalior

It is one of the most famous cities known for its very old and large fort. In fact the fort does worth visiting once. Within the fort boundaries you may find number of interesting temples and the sabotaged palaces, and each one has a different story to say. The colorful and dramatic history of the fort definitely dates back over 1000 years. The fort hill rises 100 meters from ground and is approximately three km in length whereas its width ranges from nearly a km to less than 200 meters. The fort walls tend to raise almost the entire hilltop around 10 meters high and are concrete solid. Beneath the walls, the hill face is very steep that drop away to the plains.

 

Orchha

Talking about the history, Hemis Bundela, the chief Raja Rudra Pratap (1501-31) wittily chose an effortlessly fortified and glorious site as his capital. The place is situated on the island on a bend in the Betwa River that is elevated around the surrounded wooded countryside. Orchha being capital of its own state has three beautiful places that are built by the succeeding Maharajas of that time. The forts are built in the identical style and combine to form a complex as imposing as that as Udaipur.

 

Khajuraho

The temples at Khajuraho are worth visiting as they hold a beautiful story for over 1000 years and strong belief of the locals and others across the world. The temples here were built by Chandela kings between 950 AD and 1050 AD and are truly an epitome of creativity. There were around 85 temples constructed out of which 25 are still surviving and are considered among the finest in India.

The temples are built mostly of a fine sandstone from Panna in shades ranging from pink through buff to pale yellow thought in some temples granite has been used.

 

Bhopal

The capital of Madhya Pradesh stands on the 11th century legendary city Bhopal that was created by Raja Bhoj after he constructed a dam, Pal that resulted in the lakes present here. The city is now revitalized and has several notable places and lakes to explore. The town is well-established and planned with wide set of roads, and many other important destinations that may add to your experience, making it memorable and mesmerizing.
