The train that replicates the royal lifestyle of the kings and the maharajas is The Maharaja Express. The train is said to be the most luxurious and filthy expensive train in the world. The carrier comprises the 23 carriages for a said purpose. These carriages contain:

  • Accommodation
  • Dining
  • Bar & Lounge
  • Generator & Store cars

The Maharaja Express has a total of 14 guest carriages that holds a total passenger capacity of 88. Apart from this, the train also has a swanky lounge called the Rajah Club that has a private bar, two dining cars and a dedicated bar car. The cake has an icing with the presence of a water filtration plant. Destinations that are covered are Mumbai – Ajanta – Udaipur – Jodhpur – Bikaner – Jaipur – Ranthambore – Agra – Delhi

Tour Plan

Day 01 Delhi

Welcome on arrival (16.00 hrs) at Safdarjung Station Delhi. Delhi - The luxurious Royal Rajasthan on Wheels takes you through a seven day exploration of the vibrant Rajasthan. The magic of the splendid journey begins at New Delhi and prepares you to weave the fabric of delightful imagination becoming reality over the next seven days. Your royal journey begins from Delhi and takes you through various Erstwhile Princely States. Welcome on board at Delhi with the ceremonial greetings at the Safdarjung station with traditional Aarti and Tika with garlanding and some mock tails to refresh your selves. After check in, you would be escorted to the respective cabins. Feel the difference of the World in the moving Palace which empowers luxury and tradition. Departure at 21.00 Hrs

Day 02 Jodhpur

Agra – ArrJodhpur - the second largest city of the state of Rajasthan is famous for its magnificent Mehrangarh fort. Another example of Rajput glory is the Jaswant Thada in 1899. Lunch at the fabulous 5 star hotel & dinner on board. Arrive at 08.00 AM. Departure 16.30 Hrsive into the ‘City of Mughal Splendour’ Agra to visit the exquisite Taj Mahal. Enjoy champagne breakfast over looking the Taj followed by free time for shopping/optional tour to Fatehpur Sikri or Itmad-ud-daulah. After lunch visit Agra Fort. Savour our in-house culinary delights at lunch & dinner on board.

Day 03 Udaipur

Udaipur - Water marked by whimsy & splendour, the Venice of the holds stage as one of India’s truly seductive cities. Udaipur is an international destination unto itself, packed with princeliness & passion, Udaipur is raw Rajput dreaming, with palaces, haveils gardens & temples at every turn. Visit to the beautiful princely city palace. Lunch at 5 star hotel & in the afternoon followed by a trip to crystal gallery. Arrival at 07.00 AM. Departure at 14.30 Hrs Chittaurgarh - The story is a saga of valor, tenacity & sacrifice. The fort of Chittaurgarh is a treasure trove of history & offers to the traveler an insight into the life of the great Rajput rulers. The Victory tower or Vijay Stambh is one of the main tourist attractions of the fort. Gaumukh reservoir & the palace of queen Padmini are important spots to the south of the Rana Kumbha palace. The light & sound programme is shown at the fort. Dinner on board/ Hotel Panna with cultural programme. Arrival at 16.45 Hrs. Departure at 22.00 Hrs

Day 4 Ranthambore

Sawai Madhopur - Located in the eastern part of Rajasthan, Sawai Modhupur’s claim to fame today is the Ranthombore fort & Rathambore national park. Visit the national park to catch a glimpse of the majestic tigers roaming around in the open wilderness & also pay a visit to the imposing fort to turn a page in the history of Rajasthan. There is also a temple on route the park by the name of Amareshwar Mohadeo temple which can be visited by tourist. Lunch on board. Arrival at 05.30 AM. Departure at 09.30 AM Jaipur - Welcome by caparisoned elephants & sweet music of the auspicious ‘Shehnai’. Watch the awesome ‘Hawa Mahal’ (the palace of winds), elephants ride at Amber Fort, shopping of centuries old object de arts & other items. Lunch at a 5 star hotel / on board & visit to the city palace residence of the Erstwhile Maharaja of Jaipur which houses a museum of amazing centuries-old artifacts & the observatory built by the founder of jaipur maharaja Sawai jai Singh-II who himself was noted astronomer. Dinner hotel jai Mahal palace with cultural program. Arrival at 11.30 Hrs. Departure at 22.15 Hrs

Day 5 Khajuraho

Khajuraho was the capital of the Chandela Kings, now famous for its magnificent temples. The temples were built by Chandela dynasty between 950 A.D. and 1050 A.D., are example of Indo Aryan architecture. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and the Jain Tirthnkras, the temple show cases the art and architecture of medieval India. The Khajuraho temples have declared a world Heritage site. The Temples of Khajuraho are divided in to three geographical groups western, eastern and southern. 1. After breakfast on train tourist will visit western group of temples which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and considered to be the most evolved example of central Indian temple architecture. This temple is also the largest of Khajuraho temples. 2. Lunch at Hotel Clarks Khajuraho. 3. After Lunch visit of south group of temples and museum. 4. Return to train evening tea, rest and shower. 5. In the evening guest will witness light & sound (son-et-lumire). The show detailing the history of Khajuraho has been introduced at the western group of temples. 6. Return to RROW, dinner on board and departure for Varanasi. Arrival at 10.00 AM. Departure at 20.00 Hrs

Day 6 Varanasi

Varanasi is the oldest city of the world. Varanasi is more than 3000 years old and known as the city of temples. The city is situated on the bank of river Ganga. The river Ganga is worshipped as a living goddess. There are more than 700 temples and 90 odd ghats. Visvanatha temple or Golden temple is dedicated to the lord Shiva. The Ganga Ghats (River Fronts) are the most popular pilgrimage spots of Varanasi. The holy city has been a symbol of spiritualism, philosophy & mysticism for thousands of years and has produced great saints & personalities like Guatam Buddha, Mahaveer, Kabir, Tulsidas, Sankaracharya, Ramanuja and Patanjali. It was the city chosen by the Buddha for first turning the wheel of his law for mankind. 1. Unforgettable sun rise boat ride when the temples along the river front are bathed in the sun light. Visit of Bharat Mata Mandir and BHU after boat ride. 2. Return to RROW for breakfast. 3. Visit of Sarnath and Archeological museum. Sarnath is the place where lord Buddha delivered his first major sermon after gaining enlightment, chinese scholar huieh Tsang visited sarnath in 640. 4. Lunch at Hotel Gatway Taj Ganges and return to RROW for rest. 5. Evening visit of Ghat-Maha-Aarti at the Ghat Ritualistic worship (aarti) to the river at Dahsawmegh Ghat, oil lamps and incense are lit, flowers are offered and bells ring out in unison while sacred mantras are chanted. 6. Return to RROW, Dinner on board, departure for Agra. Arrival at 06.00 AM. Departure at 21.00 Hrs

Day 7 Agra

Arrival at Agra 10.00 AM Departure for Delhi 9.00 PM Visit of Agra Fort This was originally made of bricks Babar was the first Mughal Emperor who stayed in this fort. Humayun was crowned here, Akbar rebuilt the fort with red sand stone and decided to make it his capital. Shahjahan destroyed some of the old buildings in order to make his own. Shajahan was imprisoned by his own son in this fort. Taj Mahal Taj Mahal was built on the banks of river yamuna by emperor Shajahan in the memory of his beloved wife Ajumand Bano. The site selected for the tomb was given by the Maharaja of Amber. White marble was taken from makrana Rajasthan. The chief architect was Ustad Isa Afendi and Ustad Lahori. Artists were invited from Persia, Turkey and Baghdad. The work of mausoleum began in 1633 and 20,000 workers laboured for 17 years to build it. For centuries this monuments has attracted tourist from all over the world. Taj Mahal is a world heritage site. 1. Lunch at Hotel Jay Pee Palace. 2. Light & Sound show on the History of Taj in a covered audition. 3. Return to RROW Dinner on board and departure for Delhi. Arrival at 10.00 AM Breakfast on board 7:30 AM| Departure at 21.00 Hrs
