On our way back, we visit Raj Ghat, Mahatama Gandhi’s shrine. New Delhi- New Delhi is the early 20th century British capital designed by Sir Edward Lutyens and Herbert Baker. Drive past the President’s House, the Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate, the great memorial arch built to commemorate the slain heroes of World War-I and Indo-Afghan War. Visit the precursor to the Taj Mahal, Humayun’s Tomb built in 1565 AD by the widow of the second Mughal emperor Haji Begum. Later drive to Agra & on arrival check in at hotel. Overnight stay
Today morning visit Taj Mahal at Sunrise Sunrise is undoubtedly the best time to avoid the crowds and the heat. As the sun rises and the early morning mists clear, the delicately carved white marble walls of the Taj are slowly unveiled to dazzling effect. Today morning leave Agra for Ranthambore enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri.Fatehpur Sikri - This magnificent ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Fatehpur Sikri was built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, in honour of the great Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti who blessed Akbar and prophesized the birth of three sons to the heirless Emperor. The most important buildings in this vast complex are Buland Darwaza, the main entrance to the walled city. Ranthambore National Park - Rajasthan's first project Tiger reserve and named after a 1000-year old fort which stands in the park. The Park covers an area of 400 sq. kms. It has a congenial habitat for the stately sambar, the largest of all Asiatic deer, woodland, ground and water birds abound in the park including the uncommon red jungle fowl and varieties of eagles and of course the Tiger.
